Opportunity to Lease The Boathouse

North West Mull Community Woodland Company (NWMCWC) are pleased to offer an opportunity for individuals or businesses to take on the lease of The Boathouse, a community-focused café/restaurant on the Isle of Ulva. The lease is available as part of the charity’s ongoing work to support the development and sustainability of the community on Ulva, and we are seeking a tenant who shares our values and vision for the island.

About The Boathouse

The Boathouse is an important part of Ulva’s tourism infrastructure, providing food and hospitality to both locals and visitors. The premises are licenced and include 34 covers indoors and additional outdoor seating for up to 30. The lease offers the potential for future growth, and the new tenant will have the opportunity to build on the strong foundation of this well-regarded business.

We are looking for a tenant with relevant experience in hospitality or tourism who understands the challenges and opportunities of working in a remote island community. The tenant will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business, with the opportunity to contribute to the development of the island in line with the Ulva Social and Economic Development Plan. More details about the plan can be found here.

Lease negotiation and timing

The lease will be negotiated throughout March 2025, with the aim of handing over the keys to the new tenant by the start of the 2025 season.
