NWMCWC has owned Langamull and West Ardhu Woodlands on the Isle of Mull since 2006. Two landlocked, commercially challenging, plantations have been turned into a significant asset for the community. The company currently has three employees and a number of contractors involved in timber operations.
Nine community owned woodland crofts have been created and let. Firewood and wood chip are supplied via our company Island Woodfuels. Other projects and aspirations current or in the pipeline include a micro hydro electricity generation scheme, affordable housing, improved access, archaeological developments, woodland burials and ongoing use of the forest schools area.
